Privacy

Your answers stay on your device.

cancheck is built on a clear promise: the personal information you share to check what you qualify for never leaves your browser. We do track how the tool is used — but never who uses it.

Your answers never leave your device.

The cancheck matching engine runs entirely in your browser. Your income, housing type, citizenship, and household details are never sent to a server, never stored in a database, and never transmitted to us or anyone else. Close the tab, and it's gone.

What we never collect

Your name, NRIC, or any identifying information
Your income, housing type, or citizenship status
Your household composition or family situation
Your postal code or location
Your IP address (no server-side logging)
Anything that could identify you personally

What we do track

To make cancheck better, we collect anonymous usage data. This tells us which features are used, not who uses them.

Which situation card was tapped (e.g. "Lost my job" was selected)
When a helpline number or website link is tapped
How many schemes were shown in results
Which scheme cards were expanded
Page views and general traffic patterns

This data is collected via Vercel Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not use personal identifiers. There is no way for us to connect any event back to a specific person.

What else happens

Fonts

cancheck loads the Nunito font from Google Fonts. Google may log this request as standard CDN traffic. No personal information is sent.

Icons

Icons are loaded from the Font Awesome CDN. Standard CDN request, no personal information transmitted.

Scheme links

When you tap a link to an external scheme website (like SupportGoWhere or a VWO website), you leave cancheck and that site's own privacy policy applies.

Scheme data

The scheme database (567 schemes, last audited 2026-04-09) is compiled from publicly available information on official government websites and VWO websites. We do not hold any personal data about individuals who use or benefit from these schemes.

If you believe a scheme is inaccurately represented, email hello@cancheck.co.
