What CDCs do
Each CDC handles a few things:
- The CDC vouchers, the ones every household gets each year.
- Small district-specific grants for residents in financial trouble.
- Programmes for seniors, kids, and caregivers in their district.
- Volunteer matching for residents who want to help.
The 5 CDCs each have their own programme names, branding, and small differences in what they offer.
The 5 CDCs
Your CDC is decided by your address.
- Central Singapore CDC (CCDC) — central neighbourhoods including Bishan, Toa Payoh, parts of Queenstown.
- North East CDC (NECDC) — Sengkang, Punggol, Hougang, Pasir Ris, Serangoon.
- North West CDC (NWCDC) — Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun, Marsiling.
- South East CDC (SECDC) — Bedok, Tampines, East Coast, Marine Parade.
- South West CDC (SWCDC) — Jurong, Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Clementi, Choa Chu Kang.
CDC vouchers, plainly
Every Singaporean household gets CDC vouchers each year. The amount changes year to year (recent years: $300 to $800 per household, sometimes higher, depending on the Budget). You spend them at participating heartland shops, hawkers, and supermarkets.
Claim them at RedeemSG. They expire if not used, so claim early.
District funds worth knowing
Each CDC has a small fund for emergencies — when something goes wrong and the national schemes don't fit. The amounts are modest ($100 to $500 typically), but the application is fast and the threshold is informal.
Examples:
- WeCare @ North East (NECDC) — interim cash for residents in financial difficulty.
- South West Caregiver Support Fund (SWCDC) — one-off support for caregivers.
- NW Help@Home (NWCDC) — home-based assistance for seniors.
- District-specific schemes for student transport, school meals, and festive support.
The matcher will surface CDC schemes for your district when it knows your postcode. Or browse the directory by category.
CDC vs town council
People mix these up. Easy difference:
- Town council = your block, your lift, your void deck. Funded by the S&CC charges in your bill, and run by the elected MPs of your constituency.
- CDC = social programmes for residents of your district. Funded by central government and run by a Mayor (a separate appointment from town-council MPs).
Different staff. Different buildings. Different jobs.
How to contact your CDC
Each CDC has its own website. Easiest to find yours through the matcher (enter your postcode) or by searching "[District] CDC Singapore".
Find your CDC
The matcher works out which CDC covers your address and shows you the relevant district schemes. Use the matcher.
